Adopt-A-Family 2012
Last night was my church’s annual Adopt-A-Family. It’s a huge event where we bring needy families from the community into the church. We feed them, cut their hair, do the girls’ nails, get pictures with Santa, and give the children gifts. It’s a big operation, and I absolutely love it.
This was my third year to work with Adopt-A-Family, and as usual, I was a guide. Guides get to spend a lot of time with the families because we take them to each room and make sure they’re taken care of. I got to meet four wonderful families last night. All the kids were so sweet. It really touched my heart.
I am so grateful that I go to a church that cares about our community enough to make sure as many kids as possible in our area have a great Christmas. I couldn’t be more proud of my Cavanaugh family, and I couldn’t be more honored to be apart of this awesome gift we gave these families. If you get a chance to give back to the community this Christmas, I strongly urge you to do it. I promise you’ll get a blessing.
